Where to Stay?

I know several guys have gone to Brownstein.  I've got my surgery and flight all squared away, now i just gotta figure out a hotel close enough to his office since i have to go there three times.  I've never been to San Fran, i know nothing about the area. 

Any suggestions of affordable yet comfortable hotels?
