There was one problem: McGehee, a lesbian mom co-parenting with her wife and their children's two involved dads, was active and visible in the No on Prop. 8 campaign, opposing the state constitutional amendment banning gay marriage that was narrowly approved by California voters this month.

Fresno is also where Fr. Geoffrey Farrow was relieved of his pastoral duties when he spoke out against Proposition 8.
