Dear Editor - We are in the midst of AIDS Awareness Week, a week set aside around the world to increase public awareness.

It seems a bit sad that arguably the largest health crisis in memory is relegated to a single week of "awareness," and even sadder that after this week there will be little information reaching Canadian homes about this issue.

There are 62,000 Canadians living with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). Last year between 2,500 and 4,500 Canadians were infected.
