In my case, absolutely yes. I feel like I've gone through life with someone standing directly in front of me jumping, yelling and carrying on to the point of my total distraction. I can't see or concentrate on anything else.

Sure GID can contribute to decreased productivity.
So can a new relationship, a new World of Warcraft expansion, a new TV series, an upcoming event, Christmas, a death in the family, being broke, etc, etc.
