Not long after I came to terms with this mess, yes, I wanted my cabbage patch kids in the worst way. To find out that they had been stolen, along with a almost all of my other treasures (meaning pound puppies and other stuffed critters). The short form is stuffed critters are something I've hoarded all of my life and my "guilty pleasure", as it were. (too old for that, but liked/wanted anyway, etc.). But more to the point of the question, no, purged many times over my life. Although, from the proliferation of them around I doubt that you would think that. (looks at the pile on top of her monitor, the few on top of her computer box, a few on the shelf above, a few more on the self above that. ... an that is just my office. My bed is half critters, and yes, I very much do sleep with them thank you very much. A white bear in particular.

I have soooo many stuffed toys

I even make them

makes me feel like a sissy, but I'm a sucker for cute things

Mainly though it's because I'm a total anime and gamer geek and I have toys of various characters and stuff XD

I've got Lion(who guess what...Is a lion! god I'm so creative). I got Lion in a claw game in the middle of Montreal, Canada on the way back from Cuba. I had been visiting Cuba with my church for the first time in my life and this was one of the closest feelings I've had to God in my short little life. I decided to use up the rest of my Canadian change and ta-dah I won Lion.
I still sleep with Lion(although I didn't have room to pack him to college with me) I will be getting him over my winter break. His wardrobe had changed a little from his original state. Right now he wears a pair of pink fuzzy handcuffs that I was given as a Valentines Day gift from a friend. Right now hes the only man in life(a title he's held for a long time). Lion is a good sport about the handcuffs, and doesn't give me grief for all the times I come to him crying. Although without him at college has been sad =( its probably for the better that I didn't show up to orientation with my stuffed animal adorned in pink fuzzy handcuffs. My roommate must think I'm weird enough between the skirts and Paramore lip syncing sessions.
God I miss Lion =(

I have a teddy bear that was given to me at the age of 2 (He's 16 years old!) and he sits in plain view not to far from my bed. He's still in great condition...just a bit dusty. Otherwise, I don't sleep with it (I need my space!) but if there was ever a fire or twister or something...my old teddy would be the first thing I would pick up while I fled. I love it, even if I haven't touched it in years. My old friend...*sigh*

I love my teddy bears! I still have an original Care Bears "Cheer Bear" that my parents gave me when I was three.

Good news! I asked my mom about my old doll and she said that she would help me look for it! I'm so happy!  :) I just hope we can find it.

Well... we found something... it looks just like the old one I used to have except it's not pink (actually now that I think about it, he was lilac with pink wings). It's brown and has red wings. I thought maybe it changed color or something over the years, but there are other differences too. His wings are not as soft and he's heavier. He may not be the same doll but I'll love him all the same. I'll just pretend he grew up!

Sounds like a good idea to me. Beside who says stuffed animals can't grow up

I wasn't sure if this is where I should post this but...

I was wondering if anybody still has their stuffed animals from when they were younger. I'd especially like to know if anyone still sleeps with them. I used to have a little pink dragon that I would sleep with but it's been store away in the basement and I can't find him.  :(

I'd really like to find him and bring him back up, but I'm not sure I should. I'm worried about what my family with think if they find me with it. (probably hugging it)  :-\

Haha Aelita.. I was answering another of your posts and was going to say that when buying stuffed animals for my wife, I always wished I were getting it for me, or that someone would get me a particular item!  And yes, probably would keep it in bed.....  ;D

I have a Barney and a WinniethePooh, they are on my bed all the time, but I don't hug them when I sleep unless I've had an absolutely awful day. Even as a kid, I talked to stuffies more than I hugged them. Also have another teddybear and puppy stuffie on my shelf at one house.

I used to have a bunch of stuffed toys, but my mom gave them away to charity a long, long time ago.  I found that out when I tried to dig them up a few months back. :(

There was this one stuffed penguin in particular... I can't remember his name, but I really wanted to snuggle with him again.

I was never much for stuffed animals, however, I had this pillow that I stole off of my mom's bed when I was like 2, and I named him Pilly.  He was with me no matter what.  15 years later, Mr. Pilly is still sitting on my bed, though I don't sleep on pillow's, he's there anyways while the other's get tossed off onto the floor.

Now there was this one time when I had this little Pikachu plushie...  He's either in storage now or with a child who was in the charity program we give to.  Either way, I didn't bond as much with him as I did with my pillow.
I have no problem telling my friends why I still have an old ratted pillow still on my bed, and I have no reserves when I call him Pilly either.
