Binghamton City Council proposes a law aimed at protecting transgender people from discrimination.

It would protect people from discrimination based on sexual orientation, sexual identity, weight and height.

Discrimination on the basis of orientation, weight and height is already outlawed by the state.

But the city wanted to echo its support.
