Experts take the stand in Rogers murder trial

In the second day of testimony in the murder trial of convicted killer Anthony Rogers, medical and forensics experts confirmed that the bullets retrieved from the body of Ricky Lee Blakes, the 23-year-old Rogers is accused of killing, were consistent with shell casings found at the scene.

According to an affidavit, Blakes' body was found face down on the corner of Lawrence Street and Woodward Avenue in the early morning of July 30, 2004. Blakes, a college student, was known to cross-dress and frequented the area. Rogers allegedly became enraged after mistaking Blakes for a woman and picking him up in his car, described in the document as a "dark-colored Honda."
