On a gay civil rights discussion forum, I was accused of wanting to be "quiet" because I advocated caution about an action I perceived as risky.

The proposed action is to sign up to anti-gay groups' mailing lists and if you receive requests for donations containing a pre-paid envelope to mail back a box with a brick or bag of dirt in it. (Supposedly the post office will deliver the package although I've seen only one anecdotal confirmation.)
Here is my response to this 'mail a brick' idea:

It sounds like something someone might say in a speech for high school student government.  Let's express our outrage in every way open to us.  Some outrage ought to be a bit messy.
