I have come out to everyone who is really important in my life—my immediate family, people I see all the time, and people I don't see very often but who are still friends. There are a few name changes to go, but there too, the important ones are all done.

There are still people who don't know about me, though, people I hardly ever see but who I still care about. That would be my rather large extended family. I have three aunts and two uncles who are still alive. I have numerous first cousins. I have only ever told one of them what's going on, the cousin to whom I am closest, who also happens to be gay and very understanding.
