Hi,

To anyone living in north-eastern Australia (and the Pilbara in WA, and anywhere else we're not hearing about), I hope you're all alright with the floods and everything, and that, wherever you are, the crocs aren't. :-\

Stay safe, and hope your homes and everything aren't too badly affected.

Geez but you Aussies are really having a hard time of it at the moment. Hugs from South Africa. :(

Thanks Mina. :icon_hug:

Yeah, at roughly the same time as the bushfires in Victoria, the north was hit by really bad floods. I think the death toll remained fairly low, thankfully, but one little 5-year-old boy was taken by a crocodile and they only knew 'cause they found his remains inside it. :icon_cry: http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5iAp5u286CKlbcTmaxn1dD3QXI6GA

And apparently in the Northern Territory more crocs are posing issues for kids getting to school because of floodwaters, http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/02/26/2502310.htm and the Pilbara region in Western Australia is preparing for the "heaviest flooding in years". http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25125949-26103,00.html

So fun and games all 'round, really. :-\

Hugses. We're getting much of the same, though not to the extent that Oz is getting it at the moment - Due to the drying out we've been experiencing, the Cape province has been burning for weeks now, but so far no loss of life that I know of, though damage to our farms and stuff has been quite nasty.

I hope that the monsoon will ease and the flooding subside soon. Most of the news we get focusses exclusively on the fires, with some mention of the drought you've been having for so long now. News about the North is scarce unfortunately.

We did hear about the crocodiles though. That is frightening as hell.

Anyways, hope you guys stay okay. :(

Mina.
