Vicky

The feminine version of my male nick name was already taken by a shirt-tail relative who is also TG.  I remembered the name of the first girl that I had a crush on as a role model (at about age 6), it meant changing the first letter of the first name I picked out, my middle name can be feminized by adding an "a" to the end, and my given surname is common enough that I'm keeping that much to antagonize my transphobic family members.   ;D  Vicky M.M. the short full version that sounds nice.

I picked Sarah because to me it is a pretty name, one that sounds soft and feminine.

Genevieve Swann

???My user name is by no means my CD name. My middle name is Gene so Genevieve sounded good and I like it. I guess it depends on the person. My friends are familiar with Genevieve so I am comfortable with that name. I agree with not having suggestive name. It does seem trampy. Mostly I like dressing like a demure, charming lady. There are those occasions when the trollop look seems inviting. Maybe on those occasions I should use a different name. Maybe we can just have as many a.k.a's as we want. That is probably a good option. One CD friend used an old girlfriends name.  Now I have confused myself. Have to think of another a.k.a.  Talk everyone a little later, ByBy, Genevieve

Here's something everyone should do when deliberately choosing a name: Google the name-- the full name. If there is some dominating celeb or business person with the same name, you may want to try another.

Something else that's fun is doing a Google Image Search of a name. Just searching the first name will be fine. It's amazing the similarities between many people with the same first name. I was considering Alene. Alenes seem to be fairly bland and obscure. Allisons, on the other hand tend to be lively, blonde and successful-- or sometimes porn stars. Lyric is rarely a person's name, so I'm pretty much out of the loop.

Like Jenna, Nina or Tracy?

nah...more like Dee Licious or Kandi Kane (actually-I think that one is taken), or Cookie N. Cream.  Grrr-now I've gone and made myself hungry!

Yeah but Jenna Jameson is the biggest porn star currently, Nina Hartley was the reigning goddess for a long time (she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in nursing, interesting enough) and Traci Lords was huge too - I don't see them as having a sleezy name, though the Traci spelling is a bit much, I guess its better than Nora Louise Kuzmas, her real name, and I think the stage name came from a Katherine Hepburn character.

If you are in my country (NZ), avoid a double barrelled name. They just come across as pretentious and silly here - like you are putting on airs in a antiquated redneck with money kind of way (or southern american). Or it screams "dude dressed as a lady" which I guess is ok if that is what you want to be seen as. Go for it.

I think just go with what you like.

Chelsey-Rose

When I was picking my name, my girlfriend wrote me like a huge list of womens names, and Chelsey and Rose were my two favourites [= I just whammed them together, but I normally just go by Rose because the double barrel sounds a bit pretentious in England too. And I know a girl called Chelsey who really annoys me x]
But yeah, get a big list and see what you like and what you don't like [: Got loads of a choice then. I think if one really suits you then it just kinda sounds right, you know? Good luck ! [:

I chose the name Amy because I know that is my name on the Other Side and wanted to stay with something familiar.  Through self discovery I have learned that I am a feminine entity on the Other Side and when this life is over I will go back to being Amy and get to look over this life as quite the experience.
We were all born this way.  Don't let world stupidness to bring you down to its level.  Rise above and love yourself.   ;)

Maryteresa

I chose the name that first came to mind..an amalgamation of both my wife's names, which run together very well.

Annette Elmore

I know its different here in the UK but I find the the use of two female names rather un-convincing - I've never met a Betty-Jo or Peggy-Sue in real life so if you want to be a woman why choose a name that shouts "->-bleeped-<-" in big letters......

Also for some reason ->-bleeped-<-s seem to go for what are considered "tarty" names.

As I say I know these double christian names are more common in the US!

I started off as Toni (guess what my homme name is ....) but that didnt feel 'different' enough.

Went to Antoinette for a while - too lengthy.

I WAS Toni-Annette for a short while (see above).

Then dropped the Toni so now I am just Annette - or Nettie for short.

I looked at a list of the most popular baby's names in the year I was born.
I chose Sandra because it makes me think of summer, rock and roll and the sixties, when I should have been starting down a different road.

Way back when I chose the name "Michelle", as I didn't know anyone with that name and it sounded nice (this was at the time of the Beatles song, so does that date me?), anyway, when I came to New York I discovered that my wifes daughter was named Michele (and she is a ****) sooooo I had to select something that I could be comfortable with, I have no clue where it came from but my neighbor (GG) and I were were trying to figure it out and it just came, I thought it sounded rather unique, so;

Kimberley

Just pick what you like. It may even just come to you out of the blue. The two names that I wrestled with were Kimberly and Pamela. Then one day I decided I would be Kimberly and that was it.

I decided to go with the name my parents were to give me if I had actually been born a girl. I don't know if it was a popular name then but, I do know it didn't have anything to do with that one TV show.
