INGLEWOOD — An attorney who won a large settlement in an employment lawsuit against a local Costco warehouse store has blasted the company for fighting a case he tried to settle over two years ago.

On Dec. 3, a Los Angeles Superior Court jury awarded on leave employee Juan I. Valera $420,000 after it found that he was retaliated against for complaining he was being treated differently because he was gay and HIV-positive.
