Proposition 8 opponents plan to urge state legislators to support bills challenging the same-sex marriage ban voters approved last month.

State legislators have written resolutions – SR 7 and HR 5 – in the senate and assembly opposing Proposition 8 as an invalid revision to the state Constitution.
Assemblyman Manuel Perez, D-Coachella, has not yet met with Proposition 8 proponents or opponents, said José Carmona, Perez's chief of staff.
