Wow, I haven't been here for *ages*! I think it's one of those things that you don't realise you miss until you come back to it and see what you've been absent from.
Unfortunately, though, as people have probably experienced at some point, life gets in the way.
I've just finished my first semester of honours, I have a job (yay!), and, rightly or wrongly, came out to my parents at the beginning of October. We'd been renovating the house, and all week they'd be saying "oh, the girl's doing well at the sideboards", etc., and it got to the point where I just felt I had to tell them 'cause I just couldn't keep answering to "girl" and remain sane, so one night I wrote a letter and left it out for them to find, and they took it really well. Thought they probably would, but even so, it was really good to know. Though I've had to back down a little bit - I told them I was transgender, and after a few days of obviously watching me to see if I'd changed at all (I told them I hadn't really, but you know, to them I had) they seemed alright with it, but then Mum recently asked about it, and when I explained it, she latched onto the whole "sometimes I feel genderless" thing and could cope with the idea of that much better than having a son for a daughter, and couldn't understand how I could be male if I'm not masculine (even though she helped support my "androgynous" argument by saying that "you don't necessarily have to be feminine to be female"
). So yes, I'm out, they're more or less fine with it, and yeah.
Sorry, that was all *really* badly written, so sorry if it made bugger all sense
, but it's about 1:30am, and I just had to share, and really wanted to be back here before Christmas.
Anyway, yes, soooooooooooo nice to be back and to see these names and threads from last time I was here (like that "I confess..." thread
