Dear Readers,

It has been a concern of ours at PfC for some time now that trans people in child custody hearings have not been getting a fair hearing. But the secrecy rules have prevented us gathering firm evidence to support this contention. In recent months a number of trans people, usually afraid that any discussion of their case would result in the loss of the limited access rights they have managed to retain, have spoken to us in general terms about the horrific treatment they experienced in such courts.
