I apologize for the necro post, but I'm really glad that I stumbled upon this site, and in particular, this topic regarding Dr. Peveller. It gave me great hope and inspiration to move onto the next step of my transition. I'll definitely keep tabs on my interactions with him and will post a new topic for those who have issues (e.g. being in a remote location where access to care is scarce) with finding someone.

My first session went well with Dr. Peveller. He asked questions that made me think back to things I had buried pretty deeply and that have reaffirmed my belief that transitioning is the right thing to do for me.

He is timely, mannered, affordable, and convenient. I couldn't ask for more.

I got a reply from Dr. Peveller and he says you need 8-10 sessions to get a letter, does that sound about right?  Would there be any situation in which he would deny you a letter(s)?

I don't believe so and yes, he has an 8 session minimum but that may be on an individual basis depending on circumstance. The thing about being a trans* person: No one can tell you that you aren't and only you can say that you are.  It's very personal and self-empowered question.  He helps to give affirmation depending on your background, experiences, and how you generally feel.  I had no problem getting a letter. :)

He gave me a top surgery referral in 3 sessions, BUT we had some lengthy communication prior to actually scheduling an appointment. I was leaving a therapist that I was very upset with, and Dr. Graham kind of recognized what I needed and tailored his service to that. I paid for the top surgery package that he lists on his website, which I believe is 6 sessions. He wrote my letter after our second session, we read through it together on the third session, and he told me if I wanted to continue meeting we could.

He was great for me. Very helpful, friendly. Good talks.
