Roland SH-201 Synth

So last Saturday I was with my older brother while he was shopping for a keyboard. The keyboard sales guy showed us some different models, including the Roland SH-201 Analog Modelling Synth.

Oh. My. Gods. I think I'm in love.

The sounds are exactly what I'm looking for in a synth. And at $600, it's nearly affordable.

Time to start saving....

They are nice, and fun too, and what's more, pretty easy for beginners.

And that is a real plus, as such a synth would be my first synth.

Most instruments you need musical talent, but a synth seems to also require some higher math and more than a touch of computer programing skills too.

And, oh yeah, the worst part I think, without close to perfect pitch (or a damn fine waveform generator) they are very dangerous to everyone else around.

The sales guy (a bald man named Harry (Hairy?)) was saying that the ocillators in Moog synths need to be tuned often. Like when changing from one voicing to another. Eek.

The SH-201 seemed really user-friendly when I was playing it.
