Selene

Hi....I'm not really sure where to begin. I'm 21 and am a female trapped in a males body. I have always struggled to fit in, and with my identity. Up until I was a junior in high school I had no idea what was wrong with me. I had never heard of any of this before then. Even after I found out about transgender I didn't want to say anything about it to anyone because of fear of being ridiculed for more then just being a weird kid. So until about a month ago I just tried to hide it and act normal. I've came to the conclusion that its not something that is going to go away, and I have to do something about it. I can't go on hating myself any longer. So I'm looking into finding a therapist and going from there. I found this site searching for information and figured I'd join.

Hi Selene
I think I may be the first to welcome you, I won't be the last. Welcome to this wonderful group. I have been a memeber for a short time but I feel I have made friends and people I can trust, and argue with, in a nice way

Love and Welcome

Hi Selene,

Welcome to our little family. Over 1300 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion. Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers.  Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now.  And it is always nice to have another sister.

Thanks...I had a look around this morning and read a lot of every ones stories, and it made me feel more at ease about what the next few years will be like.

Hey Selene!
I'm in the same spot as you, but I'm 22. ^_^ Isn't it nice to finally be doing something about? New Years resolutions are nice for times like this!
  •

Selene

Yea I made a few resolutions this year. Hopefully I can get most of them done!

I don't believe you.  :P

Looking like that, you can only be a GG. ;)

Sweetie, you are gorgeous and we're so glad to have you here. I hope you will find all the advice and support you need here. I joined for the first time almost exactly a year ago, just as started coming out and transitioning, and yeah, if not for this place it would have been a good deal harder.

Hugses.

You have no idea how long it takes to get looking like that, and how much I get stared at/made fun of for my hair cut when I'm disguised in "guy mode".

Make-up can only do so much sweetie. You look awesome, and once you start HRT you will be amazed by how beautiful you are going to get. I know how hard that can be to believe because it's difficult for us to see it, but you really are gorgeous.

And yeah, the stares and insults and stuff hurt sweetie, but they will pass. They're nothing honey, less than. In 5 or 10 years when all this is behind you and you're successful and happy, it won't matter.

Mina.

I always seem to place the thick question

Why do you go in guy mode? You are so obvously female.

Live it

Welcome Selene, i just joined last week, i'm a bit older 56 and i also had these same thoughts but in those days gender issues were not known nor talked about so i suppressed them on and off through the years till about 7 months ago till i had to face them or go crazy, i started seeing a therapist which is the best thing i could have done and i also started laser hair removal on my face and neck. And again welcome.

Paula
