Babies and Bathwater: Further Reflections From Readers and The Blogger on HBS and "The HBS-Movement"

http://radnichole.wordpress.com/2009/01/07/babies-and-bathwater-further-reflections-from-readers-and-the-blogger-on-hbs-and-the-hbs-movement/In going through comments this afternoon that were directed toward the Easy to Get Angry, or Just Impassioned: Hard to Tell the Difference Sometimes! blog of day-before-yesterday I realized that a couple of the comments and my responses formed a rather natural essay for today.
As usual, my comments on the topic tend to be practically an essay by themselves. Given the lateness of the hour when I began to write the last comment, it dawned on me as I added it that if I took MgS's and Jenn's comments, placed my answers around them and wrote this intro, I had a ready made blog. Call it a tv-dinner blog for today.
After today I can promise the HBS blogs will stop for some time. I think that my position is pretty clear: I find it purely positive for people of transsexing-histories (transsexuals) that researchers have discovered within some of us (dead folk, though, in some cases, darn!) definite points of contact between our brain structures and our conditions. Research into the effects of DES, scent centers, hypothalamic structures have given us clues that point toward biological rather than simply a verbally expressed "knowing" of "being a man in a woman's body" or vice versa.
