The spiritual tragedies in Obama's choice of Pastor Rick Warren

Most people aren't thinking a whole lot, right now, about the Pastor Rick Warren/Obama Inauguration controversy. Other issues, both serious and trivial, are currently capturing the nation's and the world's attention.

But multiple millions of Americans in the "GLBT" (Gay-Lesbian-Bisexual-Transgender) category of sexual orientation are still thinking about it plenty. On January 20th they and many others will find that part of the Inauguration difficult to take in, to say the least.

Since they have been quite vocal about their feelings and will continue to be, I'd like to come at the whole issue from another direction.

Out front, I apologize to all you gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Americans and others on behalf of all us straight folk — and, yes, on behalf of our in so many ways wonderfully compassionate and wise President-Elect.

I think it is funny that, in trying to reach out to the religious right, Obama picked THIS guy.  It really shows what he thinks of them, that he designates Rick Warren as their representative.  I almost think it is deviously brilliant, to saddle the opposition with such a leader.
