GM of Tennessee hotel that fired gay HR director terminated as well

His employer, the owner Tarun Surti, specifically stated that he did so because Hill is gay. While the hotel's employee manual expressly states that discrimination based on sexual orientation is prohibited, the state of Tennessee has no anti-discrimination protections covering sexual orientation or gender identity. Surti instructed assistant general manager Leonard Stoddard, who disagreed with the decision, to fire Hill.
Today Pam's House Blend spoke with David Hill, and he said that after speaking with the media about his case, Stoddard (who is also openly gay) was given his walking papers by Surti, via email, no less. Stoddard had predicted that he would be the next to go. (Out&About):
