Chemtrails in the Sky Are Evidence of Nefarious Activities for Broad-Based Conspiracy Theorists
By Alexander Zaitchik, AlterNet. Posted January 27, 2009.

Anyone living near a major metropolitan airport has gazed up at the sky and seen them: patchworks of crisscrossing contrails left by passing jetliners. Most of us don't give a second thought to this common sight of a scratched-up sky. If we do, it's likely to reflect on the explosion in air traffic and its growing contribution to air pollution.

But for an expanding minority of Americans, those hanging contrails represent something much more sinister than increased carbon emissions. Since the late 1990s, a flourishing conspiracy theory subculture has been ringing the alarm that many of these contrails aren't normal vapor-and-exhaust contrails at all. Rather, they are chemtrails, mysterious and menacing chemical evidence of secret government programs to modify the weather and depopulate the planet.

So Lisa by offering this quote what do you think we the people should do then?

QuoteWhen the new president went on vowing to harness the sun, the wind and the soil, and to "wield technology's wonders," I felt the glow of a spring sunrise washing my cheeks, and I could almost imagine I heard the music of swords being hammered into plowshares.

Wow. My first reaction was to worry that scientists were now in the awkward position of being expected to save the world. As they say, be careful what you wish for.

My second reaction was to wonder what the "rightful place" of science in our society really is.

Well, seeing as the climate change we are experiencing now is down to pollution we were pumping out 30 or 40 years ago, catastrophic change is all but inevitable, IMO. Humankind needs to be in crisis-mode already to deal with this and we aren't. The markets fold over the space of a year or two, and we've suddenly got trillions of dollars lying around to (try) and fix it, but climate change, which is a MUCH greater threat ... that we're iffy about. No, the only way we'll wake up out of our collective malaise is an Event ("Day After Tomorrow" style) and by then it will already be too late.

So very constructively, I have started practising contortion so I can kiss my own a*se goodbye. That and I'm taking survival classes and learning all about farming and foraging.

And I cycle. ;D

Yes we need to all be doing something to change our ways. The finacial crisis is actually a great thing as we are now producing less and consuming less and thusly poluting less from the lack of consumption. I knew this was going to happen and so i did move to a farm where i have learned much. However, i have been doing many things for yrs. I started a recycling center in 1975 when i took over a new container site in redway Calif. I also built energy efficient homes back east in the mid 90's that use 90% less than anything around them. I also helped to conserve 200 acres in western Virginia which was land i bought for that purpose. I also recycle and reuse almost everything i come into contact with that i do it as a fetish. I only wish more were like me but now its time to get ready for either that dropping of a major bird flu to wipe out billions or another form. However, before that happens i will be watching robots that dismantle buildings and industries etc etc and such and recycle them in a major way which will be a sign to get ready. If anyone is interested in farming in central Pa get back to me and maybe we can work something out. My next plans are to go to a wilderness area where most people wouldn't go and dig an underground home because of the increased heat that will surely come. We need to get ready for this new style of living if we are to survive as a species.

Perhaps, but whether there's a total breakdown or a rapid contraction of society, change is coming, and it can't hurt to have a few extra night-classes going.

I simply meant that sometimes a jet trail is just a jet trail.

What, no black helicopters?  No Illuminati, Freemasons, New World Order, Area 51, Wright-Patterson AFB, or Proctor&Gamble is a satanic company?

No aliens building Wrigley Field, or Tesla inventing the cheeseburger?  Jimi Hendrix is alive an living on an island recording under the name Pet Shop Boys.  And Céline Dion is really Elvis.  Ever see the two of them together?  I rest my case.

If you wanted to drug everyone in the US, wouldn't it be easier to use Starbucks and McDonnalds?

QuoteWell, seeing as the climate change we are experiencing now is down to pollution

But that is not all together true. Carbon is only a part of what has happened. It is possible even if man was not even on earth the heating cycle would come. The earth has always gone through heating and cooling cycles which coincide with the earths wobble and orbit. CO2 might of had some effect on the it but there is little proof that it is the cause. In any case reducing pollution can and does make life better for everyone.

The issue is that there is little we can do to change the situation. Our efforts should be in how to cope with it. I doubt that any group would want to change the climate as there is no benefit in it.

People must realize that the earth is finite and can not support an unlimited population. Science can help us understand and give us information on how to control natural laws. Science can not give us values.

We have created a monster that does not die and has very little morals except to make money that is the corporation.  The culture has taught us to value everything in money. Todays science is more based on money rather than morals and ethics. The ever increasing cost to experiment has made it more important to raise money than have unbiased science. The same problem in government the need to raise money to be elected is more important than morals and ethics.

Life will only improve when people realize that money, corporations and science will not make the world a better place alone. Without people using moral values humans are in for a downward slide.

QuoteChicken Little strikes again

Keeping our head in the sand will also not improve the situation.

First problem is to seriously consider ways to reduce population growth. Second is to prepare for climate change. Third is to provide for the population we have. Fourth is to clean up the environment and make life better for everyone. Only after that can we start to think about the entertaining business.

I think that "Broad-Based Conspiracy" is no longer acceptable terminology.

We prefer "Feminist Conspiracy".

Poor choice of words. I should've said that we're only really feeling the effects of 40 years ago's pollution now, and that we've yet to really experience the damage from what we've done since. I agree that heating and cooling cycles are natural Lisa, but we've sped the cycle way up to where species can't adapt quickly enough to survive.

I couldn't agree more, and the comment you made elsewhere about teaching philosophy at school - also 100% in agreement.

Sadly I don't see that happening. Business will always make itself come first.

LOL @ Jen:

Clear evidence that the conspiracy not to teach basic science in school is successful beyond our wildest nefarious dreams.  :D
