I think I'm going to be sick. I've been following the story of Caylee and I can't believe this.
How is this even legal? You can't sell a doll named after a celebrity without their permission, can you? So, how is this even a question ???

They're still selling T shirts and bracelets. WTF?

That is quite frankly one of the sickest, most twisted things I've ever seen.  >:(

The whole deal has been rather freaky.  Starting with the wall to wall coverage.

Saw this on the news.  Most definitely the worst thing.  Extremely in poor taste.  They said it was in honor of Caylee.  But maybe a law or trust foundation would have been better.

That is such BS. It's in honour to their bottom line. Ghouls. This kinda thing should be criminal. Profiteering from wars are criminal offenses in many countries, and to me this is no different.

In truth when I first read that my first thought was "head and body sold separately" but that's just me.  In the time this girl has been missing and more than presumed murdered - remember they have had mom locked up for some time before the body was found so they had some heavy evidence against her even without the body - how many kids have gone missing?  How many young boys are missing and who is giving them this kind of coverage?  Let one white girl vanish, Caylee, or Elizabeth Strange, or the girl in Aruba and you'd think it was the fist time in history that anything like that happened.

Jeffery Dahmer was able to get away with that stuff for a while because when black males in their early teens disappeared no one cared.   When sex workers get killed, or TS women, do they get this kind of attention?  Nah.

It's horrible sure.  But its not like its something new.  Hell the word 'infanticide' has Latin roots, its nothing new.

What is new is the Nancy Grace trial by TV working with rumors, innuendo, vague or false allegations, outright lies posing as 'commentary' or 'questions' that are going to destroy the trial by jury system in such cases.

And as bad as what happened to Caylee is, I'm not sure the mom is much better.  Painting her as 'evil' or a 'monster' when, if you've seen any recent film footage of her she is clearly not in touch with reality, well who's agenda is that serving?

I agree Tekla. The media bias against ... well pretty-much everybody but white middle and upper class people is horrid. What I can't get over is profiteering off of the murder of a child. That's just a whole new low for corporate humankind.

The law would state that anyone involved with the crime can not profit from it, but that does not preclude anyone not involved with the crime to make a buck off of it - true crime books and movies come to mind here, being no better or worse than a Caylee doll, really, if you think about it.

I'm sure the doll is sold by hawking cheep emotions and playing upon that kind of maudlin sediment that 'you can keep the memory of Caylee alive in your heart' kind of thing.  However there was a line of serial killer trading cards made and sold here once, so anything is possible.

And its not like dear Mommy is getting off.  The only question a trial will answer is will she get life or the big sit-down in Old Sparky. (Flordia loves the death penalty so much they have a name for their beloved electric chair - really, look it up if you don't believe me).  And, when her date with Sparky comes to pass there will be a lot of people outside the jail cheering it on, and how sick is that?

Okay, am I to gather Caylee Anthony is/was an attractive little white girl whose disappearance/kidnapping/rape/murder/other was exploited by the U.S. television news programs in order to boost their ratings? I'm shocked, shocked to find that exploitation of children is going on in corporate America!

p.s. I have no television, so I've never heard of this poor girl.

You were able to figure this out without having or watching a television?

Clearly, you are psychic.  Or the mainstream media is totally predictable.  One of the two.

I have a television AND I use to work in news media and yet I also hadn't heard anything of this either.

I either do a great job at avoiding news or am just pathetic.

I live in the UK and I assumed this as well...

Though to be honest, it's much the same over here. (See: Madeline McCann.)
