Some Social networking sites falsely using your friends names to get you to join

People are trying to get others to join sites by using associates at the same site as friends asking them to join a new type of group. I think what they are doing is getting access to our passwords by us joining these groups. I do not trust nor will i ever join a group even if my friends do ask me. I do not trust the operators of these new groups who can access our passwords etc and be able to get into our true groups info and providers info.

Note: It is best to never ever use the same passwords as your provider as you do for any group you join.

Yes grouply and reunion and a lot of other groups. I have emailed my friends and they said they never invited me and so i do not join these new fangled groups who i do not know what they are up to inviting us all to them and using our friends to do it.

No i do not mean here Nero i am getting 20 to 30 emails a week from people who are in the same group asking me to join a new group they are in but they are not really in it nor did they ask me they are just falsely saying my friends wants me to join but they really don't. I do not trust those types of groups which could be a scam for gaining passwords on thousands of people who many times people don't keep varied passwords like they should.

I wonder if at some time in the future they will try to access all these members who joined and see if they work for their providers and thusly be able to steal bank etc etc records etc

PS: At beginning life they did say they use to have access to everyones passwords and well it could be the same here and they also have access to our emails and then they could while we are sleeping etc see all we have stored etc in our accounts

so please do not use the same passwords and do not join any group a friend is asking because many times it really isn't a friend its a scammer trying to know they passwords you use in hopes of gaining access to all your stuff

yes a few groups i belong to on yahoo warned me off on grouply, annoyingly i had just fell for it not knowing what it was after getting a email off another girl i know so i quickly changed my paswords on yahoo IM and emails ect.

I still get them but they go to spam now

It is good to have two email addresses. One for junk and one for business. It is also good to have updated computer protection. There is a big difference between friends and people you are familiar with on the web.

AND NEVER EVER USE THE SAME PASSWORD AS YOUR EMAIL FOR YOUR GROUPS BECAUSE MANY TIMES GROUP OWNERS OR MODERATORS CAN ACCESS YOUR PASSWORDS AND THEN IF THEY MATCH YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT YOUR SUCEPTABLE TO GOD KNOWS WHAT..

ALSO HAVE A SEPARATE EMAIL JUST FOR GROUPS WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM YOUR EMAIL FOR BUSINESS AND MAKE SURE IT IS NEVER EVER THE MAIN MASTER EMAIL ACCOUNT..

I feel sorry for whoever is so desperate for fun that they read my email.  Likewise anyone at homeland security who has to listen to my phone calls.

I'm bored making them, I can imagine what its like to have to listen to them with no interest.

And what you are talking about - that new fangled stuff, like, well, computers, is called Web Two Point O, and networks have a lot to offer some people.  And if you are using a new fangled browser like FoxFire, it will and can give every site a unique password and remember them so you don't have to.  Ahh, technology.

We have access to chat users passwords for their nickname, incase a user forgets their password trusted staff can  look up the password for a user. The chat then broadcasts a message to all logged in staff informing them who looked up which users password.

The forums, wiki, and TGSpot has a system for automatically dealing with those kinds of requests and as such stores the passwords in an encrypted form, high level staff can change the password but can not see what your old password was.

I have one password for generic non-secure things.
I have one password for more secure things like emails and such
I have a highly secure password I use only for my credit card and online banking accounts.

It's like opening a email attachement the safest course of action is to call your friend if they didn't call you about it first.
