I had an overall amazing time and got to meet one of my favorite transgender youtubers!  Anyone else have conference stories?

I went on the 4th, how were the other days? I wish i could have gone to all of them. And how did this year compare to others in your opinion?

It was my first one and I had an amazing time! I got to buy some dysphoria-alleviating stuff as well as some generally helpful things, make new friends, learn a ton at workshops, meet people willing to talk to me about surgeries, and truly feel comfortable being myself. I am nearly 7 years into transitioning, and I had been feeling distanced from the community. This lit a fire in me to stay involved, even if I am stealth day-to-day, and made me feel great! Highlight of the conference: ducking into a bathroom to check out surgery results with a few other guys.  ;D I hope I can continue to go in following years.

The hard part with kool-aid events like this is staying energized days, weeks or months afterwards. I have the same issue with Dreamforce and Martech and SaFE and Scrum Alliance.

I was room monitor for 6 sessions across the three days and overall found it less helpful personally than last year. I think this is because I am in a different place than I was a year ago - I am out, I am full time and I am in a really hard place both personally with a divorce and financially (due to divorce + rapid transition). I am going to be proposing a session for next year though, as I personally move from closeted to functional, I am starting to want to give to the community.  I also suggested a job fair as there are a ton of companies hiring in and around Philadelphia.

However I need to get through my current battle with insurance first. IBX is giving me a hard time getting past "cosmetic" for FFS. Ironically, they will pay for boobs at any time I ask...

I got triggered by the first s Minaj which was about Suicide. They nailed it . The crowds were to much and I was not in a good place so I went to the gayborhood and watch some construction on Walnut street, ate lunch at Zavina's, saw my therapist, did an hour of electrolysis and went home to sleep. The next day was much better and Saturday was awesome. I saw so many friends there.

How did the electrolysis work out? We chatted at one of the Voice sessions.

I had a great time, I loved the non-binary symposium.
Some day we will be able to wear what we want and date who we want and have no gender markers, with no issues

I also went to the post-op show and tell. I was honestly feeling guilty about showing my result, because the results I saw were not great

I go to a lot of play parties, I am usually naked and I have cis telling me they wish theirs was like mine.
I got lucky but my depth is only 5".

Did you arrive late? as I didn't remember seeing you there when I showed mine near the beginning of the session. A few results I saw near the end weren't that great, but nothing that I would consider bad. The better ones were definitely at the beginning of the session.

I want to go to this next year. Were there any events regarding employment/job hunting etc? Getting by on my own OK but left my job in May as I didn't feel like I could come out there. Well, that and the company likes to screw its employees...but on the whole...because of transitioning.

Virginia 71 - There is some talk about having a job fair next year! Definitely look into the conference website and contact the folks involved to show your interest and maybe it'll help that happen!

I was at another seminar that was lacking, so I hopped over to the show and tell seminar.

Hi Jill,

The 4 hour electrolysis session with numbing was a challenge. Christal injected me three times. I asked that they turn the machine up as high as they could without damaging my skin. I still have dots of scabs 1 week later. Afterwards when the numbing wore off it hurt. I was swollen for 3 days and still have some minor bruising. I also do 2 hours a week of electrolysis from others.

I have a 4 hour session scheduled in September and a 3 hour session scheduled in October afterward I have an appointment with Dr. McGinn to cut a piece of skin in my vagina. I think afterwards my vagina will be done.

Sydney, I thought I saw you walking in a crowded hallway between sessions. I was rushing to get to my next session I was volunteering and did not see you again after that.  I thought I saw you and it occurred to me it may be you after I was a bit down the hallway.

Belated hello.

At 6'5" and red hair, I'm hard to miss, LOL. I think I saw you there as well at one time. The time between sessions seems too short at times.
