Tina, i can tell you my experience. I started doing hrt the wrong way which was diy then i wanted to get things done the correct way so i started seeing a therapist, they usually see you for 6 months before giving you the letter but in my case because of how i was doing it they have cut short the amount of time, the SOC allows this, this past week my therapist has sent the information to the Endo i will be seeing and sometime today they will call and get me registered and get an appointment set up. I'm not FT or doing RLE yet but I'm Paula about 75% to 80% of the time except when i have to be him

and even then I'm about 60% Paula on the outside and 100% on the inside. Here is what the SOC says about eligibility. Note 3a or 3b not both. I fall into the last part but will have fulfilled 3b by the time i see the Endo.
Eligibility Criteria. The administration of hormones is not to be lightly undertaken because of
their medical and social risks. Three criteria exist.
1. Age 18 years;
2. Demonstrable knowledge of what hormones medically can and cannot do and their social
benefits and risks;
3. Either:
a. A documented real-life experience of at least three months prior to the administration
of hormones; or
b. A period of psychotherapy of a duration specified by the mental health professional
after the initial evaluation (usually a minimum of three months).
In selected circumstances, it can be acceptable to provide hormones to patients who have not
fulfilled criterion 3 – for example, to facilitate the provision of monitored therapy using
hormones of known quality, as an alternative to black-market or unsupervised hormone use.
