Julie Marie

Saturday, my GF and I had a late lunch with my mom, two of my sisters and one of my sister's friends.  My older sister has seen me in just about all stages of transition but my younger sister (the baby in the family) has never seen me.  It's been about four years since we've last shared the same space.

When my GF & I arrive, all but my older sister are there.  No one has seen me since surgery, and I'm wearing a low cut, pretty feminine, casual top.  Boobage is obvious.  My little sister greets me with a hug, as does my mom.  I sit next to my mom.  My older sister arrives a bit later.

The get-together went well.  My mom offered during the meal that she accepts me.  She made several gender boo-boos but not intentional.  My younger sister was pretty good about that.  My older sister never uses old names or pronouns.  We took pics at the end.

When I got home I loaded the pics to the computer and sent them to my mom & sisters.  Then I looked them over again.  And a new door opened.  I saw a picture of six women.  There were no transwoman, no man dressed as a woman, no one trying to be a woman.  All six were woman.  The expression in my face told the story.  I was very relaxed and very happy.

I'm still amazed at the impact that had on me.  I've gone back to that picture several times and each time I get this feeling of intense happiness and peace.  And I realize, I've finally arrived.  Wow!

When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.
