From what I can understand a cross dresser is a guy or girl trying to look like the opposite sex. okay so what does it mean if you just like girly clothes, but don't really want to look like the opposite sex per say. Is that even more frond upon than a full blown cross dresser? Example, but on the extreme side: A guy in a skirt with his shirt off, were one may see a shirtless guy in shorts.

There have been many time in the early years I went out as a "Guy in a skirt" and in a way it is still one of my most natural way. There is a term Gender Queer (or Gender F$#@) which many guys would consider themselves if they like the feel of skirts. In the end they are just words - do what you feel most comfortable in doing and do not worry about any one else.

I think the term gender queer is more to do with gender identity than expression. I identify as gender queer yet I am not a cross dresser. All my clothes are considered gender wear for an androgyne.

Cross dressing to me is about wearing clothes of an opposite gender. Does not really matter how much you wear you are still crossdressing. But this does not nessesarily mean you are a crossdresser though. For example, some guy dressing up once off as a chick on haloween is crossdressing but is probably not a crossdresser.

I think being a crossdresser is something you identify as being, there are some internal drivers to seek out and wear clothing of the opposite genders. A crossdresser is still a crossdresser even when not cross dressing. That's what I think.

Thank you Nicky, I am a crossdresser no matter what my attire may be at this moment.  If we want to be literal it's men in skirts, women wearing pants.... how about miniskirts and combat boots. I prefer womens clothing.

I would want to know what this person's motive for dressing is.  Is it purely sexual?  Do they just like the feel of it?  Does this person like men's clothing just as much if they're made of similar material and style?  And why doesn't wearing women's clothing make the individual feel like a woman?  What is the individuals perception of what it means to be a woman?

Terms like "crossdresser" describe behavior, which does describe an anatomical male wearing female clothing, but I always hesitate to play semantic games, because asking such questions usually imply something deeper.

Alice, You mentioned kilts. I would never wear a kilt. No b->-bleeped-<-ipe music or plaid for me. I might wear plaid if it were one of those cute school girl uniforms. Maybe for halloween or something. Genevieve
