Actually no. Rips are not in trend, but wear/worn vintage is. An actually tear is... well.. a tear. The worn look makes them look old and aged... the occasional hole is ok.. but still... not rips.

SAY NO TO TEARS!

That said.. the vintage style has been around a number of years (too many) and is on it's way out within the next few seasons on the consumer level.

I've thought that with alot of trends Laci. Some seem to stick around forever and I'm thinking when are they going to go away but they don't.

I've never liked trends or trendy people  :P

When I was a young Death Rocker we would make ourselves vomit on trendy peoples shoes  >:-)

But hey, if some fool wants to pay $40 or so $$$$s for a pair of ridiculous looking jeans that come already jacked up, more power to 'em

I like ripped jeans. I was going to get a pair of jeans and rip the knee area. I kinda like that look but I never got around to it. It wouldn't look right on me

If you're a stick-thin and cute 16 year old, you can probably pull the look off. If you're over 30, overweight, or just look mature then forget it. You'll just look kind of pathetic. With fashion, if you're uncertain, go for new/neat/well-groomed and you'll always be in style.

I throw out my jeans when they rip. It's a sign that they're too worn.

If you are thin, cute and young you can wear sackcloth and ashes and it will look good on you.

I have never tried ripped jeans, and I will never. I prefer tidy and well-groomed ones, although it sometimes can look trendy.

A problem is sneakers that I usually have to wear instead of heels. Sneakers, in most cases, make me look untidy, but sometimes I am not allowed to wear heels, which can make me look very tidy (and hopefully sexy). A few days ago, I had a chance to walk on high heels boots under boot-cut jeans. In the mirror, I looked so sexy and tidy to my eyes.

unfortunately with budget constraints I have no choice but to wear them with minor rips, then they become major rips. I'll wear them until I just can't anymore then cut them off and sew the bottoms rolled up to make shorts. As mens jeans don't fit my body right (and never have) I'll probably be shelling out more $$$ for a nice pair of women's jeans, but at least they'll fit right.
