Ex-Trans Therapy Is AOK By HRC's CEI

Imagine this for a second: there's a generic firm that compiles an equality index on gay-friendly work environments in corporate, rating companies from a 0% to a 100% scale, based upon non-discrimination, healthcare policies and mental health policies. For corporations to achieve a perfect 100%, they must do all of the mentioned criteria.

Then let's say you find out that the companies receiving a 100% perfect gay-friendly workplace award offered mental health counseling with Exodus, or any other ex-gay, reparative-therapy counseling – and not the type that was accepting of the individual's sexual orientation. Would that be an expected, much less acceptable rating for that employer – 100% perfect? Or would that actually draw cries of foul, maybe protest? Would the gay and lesbian community seek to immediately discredit this arbiter of gay-friendly employers?

that reminds me. I've got to contact my reps and tell them to do something about discrimination against trans people now that they can get things done.

If my company was willing to pay for reparative therapy I'd willingly accept their assistance.  I'd tell them to repair all the damage testosterone caused and repair the birth defect between my legs.

We already have overwhelming proof that the body has to be repaired, not the brain, so why deny it?  All we have to do is change how reparative therapy is defined by those who are hanging onto antiquated ideas.

PS: I just love that one bonehead's reason why same sex relationships don't work: "The penis and the vagina fit together. Two penises and two vaginas don't work." — Richard Cohen, Pres. of Parents & Friends of Ex-Gays

In other words all relationships are defined by the ability of the genitals to fit one in the other.  That's what a relationship is all about, isn't it?  Maybe the husbands of this world can take this to their wives (or vice-versa) and tell them if they aren't getting enough sex they have the right to find it elsewhere.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.
