Robyn

Hi, all.

My real name is Robyn, although my user name at Susan's is reikrobyn.  Reiki because I'm a Reiki Master/Teacher who spends most of her spiritual healing time with the Distant Healing Network .

Born in 1937, I should be enjoying retirement, but the Navy keeps having my company pull me out of retirement and back to full time.  I haven't spent a spring or summer at home in 4 years.  Last time, I promise.  At least, my husband is here with me now for several months.  (So why am I on the computer???)

I'm a Toby-girl, that is, a Meltzer graduate.  Had my SRS on my 63rd birthday back in 2000.  Never looked back.  Life continues happening after surgery.  SRS isn't the end of the journey; it's just another beginning.

My new beginning led to several years of transactivism on the boards of NTAC, TAVA, PFLAG-TNET and as a writer, panelist, facilitator, etc.  Much of that had to go when I went back to work full time.  Not so sure how much I'll be involved when I finish this work and look ahead to turning 70.  Time for Hawaii, then.  I'll still run my ElderTG and TSVets news lists, Spirit willing.

Let's see ... Naval Academy graduate, MIT PhD in Naval Engineering, retired Navy commander, project manager, parent, grandparent, wife.  Can sometimes think her way out of a paper bag, but not always.  Can still parallel park.

I think that's about it in a nutshell.

Namaste.

Robyn

Wow. What an amazing personal history.

I look forward to hearing more about you and learning from the insight you must have from such broad life experiences.

Welcome.

Hello reikirobyn.

Welcome to Susan's.  It would seem that you have a lot of experience to offer Susan's.  I hope that you participate and post messages where you can.  Don't be afraid to join in the topics as it's always good to get another point of view.

I think that you will also find many ex-military/service members here as well.  So enjoy your stay and I'm sure we'll chat later.

Well how about that.

We met long ago, 6 years in fact and then again briefly at the Creating Change conference here in 2003.

You, Lori, Dale Lynn, Vanessa and I don't remember who else were at the Transactivist? panel meeting.

I haven't been to IGC since 2004? when I was there for a panel on the pamphlet for surgery in Thailand.

Gee, I guess that means there is still hope for me (I will be 62 in November).  I am still planning on SRS.

Congratulations Robyn.
