However, impassioned pleas for fair play were dismissed by the opposition who argued DSM-IV's classification of transsexuality as a "disorder" should be the golden disqualfier of justice. Apparently, DSM IV's "diagnosis" infers transgender individuals aren't mentally fit for human rights. The opposition recommended mental health counseling instead. Bless their tainted paper hearts.

What the opposition failed to note is that the DSM's recommended treatment for gender identity disorder (GID) is physical transition. Heaven forbid! That would open yet another door that MCRG desperately wants barred---public restrooms. But who can afford to be bogged down by a bunch of fine print when there's precious, little time to raise the public ire? Certainly not Maryland Citizens for Responsible Government.
