I was listening to Alan Jackson the other night and noticed that his song "Where I come from" contains the following lines

Quote from: Alan JacksonThis tall lady stopped and asked
If I had plans for dinner
Said no thanks ma'am, back home
we like the girls that sing soprano

Ya think he's homophobic of something :)

isn't that a country sanger?

doesn't that culture emphasize traditional values above most things?

it may however be more than homophobic
along the lines of Eminem's little display on 'hermaphs and trans-a-vest etc'

IE: could be a veiled reference to something that's bothering Alan.
#1, I CAN TELL YOU that homoeroticism in the music business is unavoidable.
Boys in the band...

You've been in the military, right Steph?

nudge nudge wink wink
say no mo'

I wonder if Alan prefers the boys that sing soprano
to the girls that sing baritone

I know this is an old topic. But I don't get the feeling at all that he's homophobic. He refers to her as a lady, and politely calls her ma'am. I don't even get the feeling he's transphobic.
