Hi
My name is Debbie and I am a married transgendered person MtoF. My wife is aware of this but would rather not know. I live in the UK and am dressed as I write this, it makes me feel very comfortable to be dressed like this although I haven't plucked up courage to go out as yet. I do buy my own clothing and make up but always dressed in drab. I am a little bit late if life to take my gender identity further but really wish I had when I was younger. The feelings do not go away as I progress through life, if anything they get stronger.

Love to All

Debbie

Hi Debbie  :icon_wave: you will find sisters (and brothers) here of all ages and I think you are right that it never goes away unless you take action, but on the other hand it's never too late, and late is always better than never imho. I'm pretty new here myself but I really like this place- there is a load of useful information as well as some really nice people. welcome!

Hi Debbie and welcome, you didn't say how old you are but I'm 56 and just started transitioning last year and am getting really good results so far, there are quite a few older than me that have transitioned too.

Hi Debbie,   :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 2100 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion. Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers.  Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now.  And it is always nice to have another sister.   :icon_hug:

I am one of the older girls here.  55 yrs. old, 10 months HRT, 6 months RLE.  It can be done at any age.

Hi Debbie.
I think you will find lots of info here.
As for Janet being old. Lord girl I'm 56 and 3 months: Janet, you're a spring chicken :D.
Try not to worry. You've had a life of not knowing , or one of knowing with no answers. There is a lot of info on this site; but more importantly as Janet said " You are now family". This family has saved my life.

I used to live in the UK in Liverpool, did my Uni at Sheffield. Now I'm in Australia. Is it still raining? :D

Hi Debbiewalsh hun, welcome to Susan's. Yep that's right, never to late, I am 63 years old and there are a few others here around my age and older as well.

Don't let any one lead you to beleive that the older you get the less effective HRT is. It varies with different people no mater what age although it does appear to be most effective the younger you are, or should I say the results occur faster. My avatar pic is one of my most recent.

Anyway there are many here who have already walked the walk so do not hesitate to asked any questions you may have on TS/TG related enquiries.

Hi Debbie.  My wife was similar to yours, perhaps.  She knew about my dressing before we were married.  Sometimes we would shop for women's clothes together.  Other times she couldn't stand to see me dressed.  She knew in her head that it had nothing to do with her but sometimes had trouble knowing in her heart.

The GID comes and goes but never goes away.  In my experience, it gets worse as we get older.  Sometimes life gets in the way, but it's always there until you deal with it.

Welcome to our little(?) family.  Good luck on your journey.

Thanks so much for the introduction. Pleased to "meet" you and hope you enjoy your time spent at Susan's.

Please take the time, if you haven't, to read the Site TOS On The Main Page you'll find links to Chat, Wiki, Links and the Reference Library that you should find helpful in getting to know others here and in finding topics and educational lsitings that you'll find helpful for transitioning.

It can be difficult in the extreme so start a transition later in life. But you should prolly be aware that there are people who have started very late, like as late as their seventies and gone full-time and had surgeries. So it can be done.

No, sorry to say the feelings of "wrongness" and wanting to transition do not go away. They should prolly be looked at as just part of who a person is.

I hope that you are able to find a way that will bring peace and contentment to you. In the meantime enjoy your stay and get to know some of the wonderful people who populate our Forum.

All the best for you, debbiewalsh.
