QuoteDES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa's Supreme Court legalized gay marriage Friday in a unanimous and emphatic decision that makes Iowa the third state — and first in the nation's heartland — to allow same-sex couples to wed.
Iowa joins only Massachusetts and Connecticut in permitting same-sex marriage. For six months last year, California's high court allowed gay marriage before voters banned it in November.

Iowa Amazing, I would not have had them up there for my first 5 states to legalize gay marriage. Probably closer to the bottom 5.

Pat's brother lives there.

We're going to go there for our summer vacation now.  Pat's brother will be her best man and I'm going to ask my daughters to be my maids of honor and my granddaughter will be the flower girl.

Yeah.

We're gonna get married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations sandy!
Thanks, Myles!

Pat asked me to marry her about 18 months ago when I visited her when she was living with her dad in Wisc.

We had gotten a room and she brought out champagne and presented me with a beautiful rose made from feathers.

I held it tenderly and thanked her.  She told me to feel it.  I did, but I didn't catch on.  She then told me to feel inside, that the rose was very soft inside.

I did and found the engagement ring she bought for me inside the flower.  She got down on one knee and asked me to be her wife.

I broke down and sobbed and could only nod my head.  Goddess I  love her!

We had plans to get hitched once Illinois passes its domestic partner bill, but it's worth it to go to Iowa to actually get MARRIED!

Yeah, I've been chattering about the Iowa ruling to anyone who'll listen.
