That provision makes sense to Ken Garber of Quincy, whose said his son CJ was born a female.

"My son could've walked into a men's room and you would've never known," he told The Patriot Ledger on Tuesday after a State House rally in support of the proposed legislation.

After years of student bullying in Quincy schools, struggling to find a job and feeling like an outsider, Garber's son died of a drug overdose at the age of 20 on Jan 26.
