Injection weirdness...

Okay, I'm probably being paranoid here, but it's really starting to get to me. I recently switched from 1 1/2 inch needles to 1 inch, and since, every time I remove the needle from my thigh, some clear liquid comes out with some small droplets of blood. Again, paranoia yes, but I'm afraid the T is leaking out. I wouldn't think this was possible, but I don't recall it happening with the longer needles.

Anyone have this happen? Have any idea if it's possible for the hormones to leak back out? Thanks for entertaining my obsessiveness...

happens to me almost every time.  you just made a hole, so yea, logically, some T can leak out.  usually i just rub the rest of it around on my leg so that it can absorb through my skin or whatever.  i doubt it makes that big of a difference.

I used to get that too, (oil/hormone leakage) but I starting shoving the needle (yes, it's 1") to the base and it pretty much went away (although I use magellan so that is pretty easy for me to say >.>)

if you're going to keep using a shorter needle, try z tracking.

I've noticed that at my injection sites as well and I have used both 1.5" and 1" needles.

For comfort I prefer the shorter ones.  And like Josh mentioned, I just rub the site and flex my muscle and the hole seals up and no further leakage occurs.  The leakage is minor and really doesn't affect the efficacy of the injection.

not sure if T is a thinner soloution to estrogen but i was teach to leave the needle in 20 secs, as i withdrawl i put swab over straight away and just press down for around same time, dont rub muscle too hard you just wish to seal the hole.

I have never suffered a leakage using this method

if you put a cotton swab over it right away, how can you tell if its leaking out?

a (small) tell tale stain of the carrier oil on the swab/pad/whatever. because the injection is technically an injury to the skin, hand pressure on it will greatly reduce the chance of (uhh) fluids seeping out

(and just to toss my opinion out, i see little need in leaving the needle in for any longer then is needed to inject the drug)

Well there is lymph fluid between the cells so it partly that too.  Lymph is waste fluid secreated across the cell mebranes. It collects in the lymphatic system that goes to the lymph nodes which collect it and it's carried back to before the heart where it reenters the blood steam.

That happened to me before to, nothing to worry about.

because i see it before i place it and once its sealed nothing comes. It why nurses often press down on an injection point or ask you to.

I never used to have this happen. Yeah sure I used to bleed, but whether I didn't notice it was because I wasn't too observant and I put the cotton wool straight on the site.

Personally when I was having injections I used to have a bit more than I actually was ment to take in the needle just in case.

For example if I was having 100000 gallons of their would be 120000 gallons in it. Just to cover spills and that like. This was not how much I was taking, just an example because that would be insane.

Thanks much everyone for helping me out... especially to Mister, for the z-tracking suggestion. I used that method on my shot this morning and, of course, no leakage. It does, however, seem to cause more pain at the injection site than the method I was previously using. Regardless, I think I'll stick with it, as I far prefer the 1-inch needles to the frighteningly longer 1 1/2 inch ones.

No problem.  Glad the z-tracking fixed the leakage issue.  When do you inject?  I always stick myself after a hot shower when my muscles are all gooey and more able to handle the oil-based injection.
