help! nail polish is complicated

I play guitar and have used "Hard as Nails" and "Hard as Diamonds". I'm a finger picker and don't like using picks or finger attachments. I've also used the glue on nails

Same here, never played with picks   (no, there isn't a letter missing there!)

Sounds lousy with any hand strumming or picking, but I do have a favourite hand for playing with picks

you use the base coat if you just want one coat of clear polish. the topcoat is for the top of the basecoat.

BTW try going to a professional saloon

If your nails are a hopeless disaster, at least then you can get drunk enough not to care any more-- if a saloon it's to be.
