Phantom vagina? How does that work?
Just like other phantom body parts, I'd expect.

As someone who has both had one and gotten rid of it... you can't feel them! Well, unless you jump in the pool at juuuuust the right angle...
From what I've understood, most women do in fact feel it on occasion, like when something is in there. Apparently it is one of the things that make sex enjoyable and childbirth not very.

But it's often pretty easy to not pay attention to one's body parts, which is a good thing as otherwise life would be too full of distractions. Also (and perhaps more to the point), there apparently is some anecdotal evidence that the TS phantom limb effect goes the other way too, so that for instance some pre-op trans men tell how they have a hard time feeling their breasts. I don't know if it's a similar thing, but for me it's often very easy to ignore the physical reality between my legs, to the extent that most of the time it's about as good as not there. It's still easy for me to believe that someone else could have phantom sensations there, though.
