The ability to dream.  It's something that's rare in society, a willing departure in the mind away from reality.  Hope, staring at seemingly impossible odds and willing to overcome it.
Yes, that is one of the main things that drives us and visionaries of all sorts.  To see what is and imagine something different, better, affirming.

The deep-sated ability to dream of doing something more than just being is what makes many transsexuals special.  Doesn't make them much different from any wide-eyed 8 year old cradling a book as big as her head and knowing what she reads in it will never come to be.
But we dream about things that *can* be, don't we?

Quote
But yes, it is special among humans, and it's one thing that all transsexuals have by default of being transsexual.  The same could not be said of the general populace.
Then why are you here dear?

Quote
This thread is still stupid.

And I pretty much am disgusted by most transsexuals I know.

So many of them dream too much, an old hag eluding herself to dreams that she's a young princess.

It's not my place to disillusion any of them,
Then why are you here, dear?

Quote
but I do find it frustrating that while I'm getting on with my life in the real world in the middle of transition, all these people are doing it comfortably in retirement, well settled into their roles while the younger ones like me are struggling for rent, education, love, and transition, as well as all the other BS drama of youth.
Trust me, dear, there are precious few in late stage retirement, comfortable or otherwise, and I am certainly not one of them.  I can empathize with your youthful angst and anger, but, dear, you are generalizing a bit much, I fear.  And trust me, dear, even after spending myself into bankruptcy to have all the surgeries, I have not deluded myself into thinking that I am any sort of princess.

We trans people, you included, have a mental image of ourselves that does not match our bodies.  And we are driven to distraction dealing with this condition.  Because we imagine ourselves as something more, does that make us delusional?  I think not.

And the fact that someone would start a thread complimenting us, hardly counts as objectifying.  Were I to compliment you on your green hair, would I be objectifying you?  Maybe we should never compliment anyone, anywhere, anytime, for fear of objectifying them.

Quote
Kay, I'm done with my stupid whining in this stupid thread.
Maybe that is a good thing, hon.  Getting your blood pressure elevated regularly at such a young age can lead to problems later in life.

Now run along, I'm sure that there is some emo band on your ipod you'd rather be listening to.

What Is The Most Beautiful Thing About MTF Transsexuals?

I don't really understand the question but I was going to go with personality but then again I've met some very disagreeable Transsexuals!
Living in the real world, not a fantasy

This may seem a hokey answer but....I have two friends that are mtf. The best part is having someone who ha some understanding of what I'm feeling and having actual live people to talk to and one who I work with and stands up for me to some of our clients.

The most beautiful things about MTF's?
They are 100% human, just like everyone else :D

They know what I'm going through, and this might of been said already, often times they look exotic, even if they pass 100%! FTM's and MTF's both are immensely brave, so if I was to say, "Transexuals have a lot of balls", don't take it the wrong way! =P Courage, Understanding, and beautiful in there own way =)

I have felt that I have more "balls" now than when I had testicles.  I seem to be willing to take on the world more, and rarely give in to passivity.

Though I wouldn't call myself brave, any more than it is brave to run out of a burning building.  Many, myself included, feel that it is a "transition or die" situation for us.

And thank you for the exotic compliment.  But please be sure to include yourself in that as well.  You are one of us, after all!

I agree with Sandy, don't count yourself out. You have some of that exotic look yourself. Love your hair :)

We can fixed a car and a cat. And, if we are straight, we understand male people maybe a bit better than our woman born women sisters.

Sad to say, I think the exact opposite it true.  I don't see one iota of proof that what you say is, or would be, true.  By the postings I read here, I sure don't see it, as most tend to play to the most repressive and regressive stereotypes I've every read outside of KKK pamphlets.

I think, we have collected different experiences. Maybe a role also plays from which countries we come, and which gender picture first-class exists in our countries? I don't know it, but it would be interesting to find this out.

If I were to say it would be their souls also. Most have been through so much and when you talk to them, they still light up. God it is beautiful.
