Transsexual Sarah Jones has made history by being ordained a Priest in the Church of England.

There is more to life than a label. But my gender change is an issue I am more happy to talk about since February [when the news became public ( News, 4 February)]. I went on the BBC's Heaven and Earth Show: I felt I had nothing to lose.

I have received lots of supportive emails, texts, and letters — although I am sure there are people in the Church generally who would be unhappy.

Ha! I've got her beat!  I was ordained a minister 8 months ago!  And I'm not kidding kids. I'm a real minister of my own church.

Sadly the Church of England is imploding.

The ordination of an openly gay Bishop and now a transexual priest.  You cannot impose things on a community and not expect some sort of reaction.  Sarah Jones is correct in her statement but she is vastly underestimating the level of unhappyness.

I am not sure what my feelings on such developments are.  But I guess the concept of imposition has always been a part of the Church of England.
