My results were pretty quick. I think if your already having these problems with the Doctor already I would suggest going through another resource. If they can't keep your results straight then why would the hormones administration be any different? Doesn't sound like a reputable org...

Too right! God help us all if Swine Flu gets here, they can't even get Tamiflu to those already infected.

Your blood tests should take a maximum of 10 days and that's only for specialised tests. Hassle your doctor and demand to know where they are.

They've got to pick up the phone first ¬_¬

OK, go in person to your GP and demand an explanation for this unacceptable delay. Blood tests are now on a database so it should be easy to see if they have gone missing or not.

Do not let them mess you around like this. :)

If you hate the NHS that much, you can always pay to go privately you know!

Alternatively, just go to the surgery and speak to the receptionists. If they can't help, ask to speak to the practice manager - make an appointment if they're not available straight away. Or if your GP is always unhelpful, change surgeries and find one that's better.

Good advice.

In London however it can be practically impossible to change surgeries. Usually however one can ask to see a different doctor if one of them is being problematic :)

I'm pretty sure that even in London you can change surgeries by writing to the local FHSA (Family Health Service Authority) and requesting that they allocate you to a new one. Even if all the surgeries in your catchment area are full, if the FHSA allocates you to one they're obliged to take you - I had to do this once (in Manchester, not London) when I moved to a new area as all the surgeries said they were full; I think you can do this even if you just want to change practice without moving to a new area.

That's how it should be but in Lambeth they will not accept a transfer unless one is chucked out of the practice.

Its your doctors surgery which has the problem. They have to keep them  on record..

Well... those as well lol

We'll see how it all goes down tomorrow when i call. I've got a feeling that when i went to Italy (even though i asked them not to) they took me off their list. My docs took me off their records, so i'm really hoping they didn't take me off the NHS list either. But it's likely. I'm just worried if they did, they wont put me all the way back down to the bottom cos that would mean another 2yr wait.

If they do try and put you back down at the bottom of the waiting list, I'd recommend that you contact PALS - the Patient Advice and Liaison Service. They're generally excellent at sorting out problems like that. There's one in every area; just google for PALS and the area you're in and you should be able to find out the contact details.

They can't take you off the list for two weeks in Italy.
