In response to "Campus Voices: What do you think of the campus establishing more unisex bathrooms?," which appeared in the April 28 issue of the Spartan Daily:

I cannot speak for President Whitmore regarding the gender neutral (unisex) bathrooms, but I can speak for the more than 100 transgendered individuals who are a part of the SJSU family and the many others who understand the need to be respectful and sensitive about their needs.

I would like to address some of the concerns raised in Mr. Moon's letter and the comments of some students in the "Campus Voices" on Tuesday, April 28.
