KALAMAZOO -- The Kalamazoo City Commission could re-adopt by late June a controversial ordinance that offers local employment- and housing-discrimination protection to gays and lesbians.

At issue is an ordinance that would make it illegal in the city of Kalamazoo to deny employment, housing or public accommodations to gays, lesbians or transgender individuals based on their sexual orientation.
