On Saturday I did a presentation on gender for a local group and it went over extremely well.  I may end up doing a similar version for another group and may end up doing a series of talks with another to address gender.

At first the entire presentation was listed as Transgender and I focused on LGBTI.  Their circulation however stated that it was on gender so I presented it as:  A Look at Gender by Examining the Gender Variant In Today's Society.  The transsexual and intersex portion was probably the most popular and garnered the most questions.

Gotta run, "see" you all on Tuesday.  Have a safe and fun holiday.

Hi LIT,

Glad it went OK....

Is the presentation in a form you could share with people here?, what about the wiki or a link to it?

Just a thought.

It was a mix of things that I found on the web but I will try to gather the links I used and post them.  The handout I made up as a brochure and used a lot of SAGA's info on it (well after correcting some of the grammar).  All of that will be changing as I need to tweak the wording and refine it so it mirrors the presentation a bit better.

A lot of the info I used did actually come from the Wiki here.  :)

I did have a bi guy come up to me later and ask that the next time around that I address how they tend to be discriminated against.  I will probably talk with him later on and then research that a little bit.  Another person that I had been interacting with for a little over a year said that she had no idea I was trans until something was said a few months back (which was the start of the advertising for the presentation).  :)

I think Bi-guys (or bi-gals for that matter, just not bi-gots ;)) are something to be treasured as a transsexual woman.  The reason is that it doesn't matter where you are in your transition, they will still see you for yourself.
