NEW ORLEANS – A man sued the New Orleans Police Department, claiming he was harassed by an officer who threatened to arrest him for wearing a black pinstriped skirt to municipal court. Jeremy Don Kerr is asking for $1 in damages, a ruling that his rights were violated, and an order against barring access to public facilities because of gender stereotyping.

The department hasn't been served with the lawsuit and hasn't answered the claim in court.

Michelle.

I love this approach. Sue in court seeking minimal monetary damages, yet the much larger issue would be a positive decision regading ones personal rights and liberty. Excellent.

I'm glad that having solved all that Katrina stuff, and done something about a crime rate that's one of the highest in the country that the NOPD can now worry about this.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Ha Ha HA... thanks Tekla for my daily laugh. I'll be somewhat sane the rest of today because of you.
