When I left they weren't telling jokes. They just uniformly seemed to think y'all might do well with a few years in psychiatric hospitals.

Just think of it as one huge outpatient clinic with a few ski slopes and a small 840 mile beach for recreational therapy, the entertainment industry for arts therapy, a huge chunk of the computer industry for job training, and the 8th largest economy in the world for life skills therapy, and oh yeah, some therapeutic gardens that make it the largest agricultural state in the Union.  But hey, we're crazy.

Yes, and, from what I saw, that was furthered by many of those regions being populated by people who generally never got out of those regions, even for vacations.  I still well remember a person telling me that they had moved all the way from Dickson City to Dunmore as if it was unfathomably far to move - at a guess, the maximum distance would be about five miles.
