Whether or not Shelby County employees will be protected from job
discrimination based on sexual orientation will come down to the votes
of two black men.

Presumably in their lifetimes, they have found themselves on the short
end of the discrimination stick a time or two or 50.

In the general government committee meeting Wednesday, county
commissioners Sidney Chism and James Harvey abstained during a 5-5
vote on an anti-discrimination ordinance that would include sexual
orientation and gender identity.

it's always scary to me how quickly some people will jump on any chance to discriminate against anyone not exactly the same as they are, almost as if the only thing keeping these sorry excuses for human beings from trampling on everyone's rights everywhere is the thin veneer of civil rights laws that have forced them to grudgingly tow the line.
Girls rule, boys drool.
If I keep a green bough in my heart, then the singing bird will come.
