A few months ago some friends and I ventured into Good Vibrations in the Mission on a quest for some good porn. I was interested in seeing some "straight" FtM porn—i.e. a movie with a trans man having sex with a woman—but to my chagrin there wasn't much of that genre to be found. Why not?

There seems to be a plethora of porn with trans women (MtF) and cis-men, often referred to as ->-bleeped-<- Porn, where straight men get "tricked." Porn star, Wendy Williams talked to San Francisco Bay Guardian about her fanbase being largely made up of straight men and why she believes there's a lack of FtM porn out there—commenting that FtMs still have "a female brain" while she still has a "male brain"—this is problematic to me on many levels and I do not agree with her in the slightest. In Julia Serano's book Whipping Girl she suggests that trans men are less visible because they pose a threat to cisexual men. I can't help but wonder if this is really why trans men are rarely seen in porn—especially "straight" porn.

Funny, everyone else complains that they are in porn and thus only exist as sexual creations.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

There's plenty of transmale porn, but it's all with cismen.

Maybe it's just me, but I really am not concerned about transmen or transwomen or anybody being "well represented" in the pornography industry. I don't enjoy watching porn as to me it is trivializing sex. Much of the industry involves serious exploitation of the actors and actresses. Porn is also a symptom of the gender imbalance in our society. Porn is generally directed towards a male audience. The sex scenes that take place seem very unrealistic and exaggerated for an obvious reason: they aren't doing it for each other but for the person sitting in front of the screen. I'd like to know how the transsexual actors (MTF or FTM) are treated by the industry vs. how the cis-men are treated. I'd bet there is a difference.

I think that's the point of the article.  There's ->-bleeped-<-->-bleeped-<- porn galore but no straight porn.
