Shootin the sh** with Dr. Toby Meltzer.

     Hiya! On June 5th, I attended Chicago's Be-All convention and had a chance to watch a few seminars with Toby Meltzer. Not only that, but was able to meet and speak with him in private for about an hour with his office manager, Linda Takata in the hotel suite. I must say that I am incredibly impressed with this man as I expected something entirely different.

      My visit turned into a surgery consultation, and we talked about SRS and his procedures, as well as his hospital in Scottsdale. He's very professional as far as what he knows, but he's -incredibly- down to earth. It was hilarious because him and I were laughing along like kids, while his assistant was just smiling and sighing with her head in her hands- like she was embarassed. It's obvious he's like a big kid and she keeps him in line. They were both incredibly fun!

      When the conversation turned serious he discussed his medical background. He attended the Univ. of Michigan like I do now, and did some work out of Wayne receiving which is not too far away. I am a pre-medical student and his background is something one that is aspiring to be a doctor herself must truly respect and feel confident with. After running through the procedures, and the confidence I had built up with him - I made my decision.
I'll be having my srs with him.

      I had set a tentative date of January 6th of 2010 with him prior to my conversation with him, and I sent out the deposit to set it in stone. Yea it's a little more expensive, but I'm glad I've landed at this conclusion. Guess Tinkerbell won't be the only Meltzer patient running around on the board!

Toby Meltzer did my top surgery 2 years ago.  I'm very pleased with how it turned out.  I get the chuckles now when I have to take my shirt off for a doctor.  On more than one occasion I've had people say, "nice nipples."  It cracks me up.  They're referring to the fact you can't tell the nipples are reattached.

I too am scheduled with Dr. Meltzer, for this fall. And, like you, I found him very easy to talk to, and that really added to my confidence. I feel safe going with him for my simultaneous top and bottom surgery.

Well I saw Dr M, a few hours ago...

I'm lying here in my room (5pm) at the Greenbaum... my nurse Tamia is a doll, and is making my recovery, much more stress free and comfortable.

A mark of a good surgeon is how familiar a doctor he is with a key procedure.

He did one Labiaplasty yesterday, three today I was on first at 7:30....and I think he's scheduled for one more tomorrow...

So the more he does – literally the more experience he constantly gains.....

He'll be in the UK at a big international conf' in Norwhich next, so any Brit gals that would like to meet him....it might be a good opportunity rather than paying the £580 airfare to Phoenix....?

So Nikki J trust in yer choice....the team here are very focused and look after you in 5star fashion.... and that's a truth...

Cruella, thank you so much for sharing your experience, I hope you're coming along nicely, I'd love to hear how dilating and handling life went for you. I still don't know how I'm gonna handle the middle of the day routine, it should only be for a month he told me, so that's not too bad, but makes work a little tricky.

Indeed Rob, I can assure you he's doing a lot of FtM guys and they all seemed pretty settled the ones I got a glimpse of moving through the clinic reception....

Well I'm 23 days into my voyage into middle-aged tweaks here in AZ outta 31 days in total.... it will be a shock to go from daily temps of around 40c back to a UK wintry 17c....

So far (physically)....all's moving along brill, though my main gripe is that as I have two drains still in me till at least till Mon.....and I've been off estrogens since the 17th of August, so I've gone ghormanghastly bloody awful menopausal!!!

But Dr M was offering wise counsel when he suggested a mate join me for part two....so the Kitten flew out last Friday, which enabled us to have a wee break in Sedona & the GC over the weekend, to not have done this would have been uber dumb on my part!

If you do come here (scottsdale)....do venture up to Sedona....it's a magical, soulful.... geologically spectacular space.... and as a forever-after-marriage start venue.... I can't think of many other places (globally) that would beat it....if you say 'I do' just as the sun kisses down behind the awesome majestic red-rock backdrop.... and an uber cgi'd sky kicks in.....(but gulp)....its natural!

But I digress....

What would I advise to someone coming here solo from Europe?.... Well the local diet is a tad Mac'D/PizzaHut/TacoBell shocking on the calorific value scale....but there are some good options for quality food if you go look-n-seek....

I would also say if yous be out here in a lonesome hotel truly non-supported by a buddy then do invest in a private RN, mine came via Nip Tuck Nurses....Miche's been such a great can-do investment too...

Many of Dr M's staff are in fact real gems.... for me personally two of my favourites for mention in dispatches are the lovely, kind, caring and really there for you when you most need it Linda T..... and a bonus for me was getting to know Rachel G, whom has figured out my weird 'black' style of flip-flop-gothic ironic twist Brit humour....

Laugh....(oh boy have we)..... and one wouldn't want to go into the scene of me exiting backwards via the Greenbaum trade entrance on Tues afternoon...in their company run Volvo....

So in a month or so when I finally have a better grip for what's what, and I'm safe home.... I'll post a clearer update on the surgical outcomes....ma dears....

But it's still so early days, with lots of aftercare distractions....that at the mo....I'm just dealing with the chores every hour as they come....

Well i chose suporn beacuse i have heard more *praise* about him than any other surgeon online and in person.

i chose suporn beacuse having an orgasm i think is the most important thing and ive never heard of a girl that does not orgasm thats gone to suporn, he actually guarantees 100% that you will orgasm when no other surgeon does.

he also can give you more depth than any other surgeon can. and yes some of his results are ugly but i think every surgeon has made some ugly vaginas.

dr meltzer will not give you a pretty vagina until you go back to him for labia and spend another 7,000 with him, the first time around meltzer gives u a super ugly vagina that ive seen from 2 of my friends that had srs with him this year.

he purposley gives u an ugly vagina so that u will go back to him and spend 7,000 more dollars, while suporn will do you a vaginal rejuvunation for *free* if your not happy with appearance.

ive also heard of 3 girls on here that dont orgasm with meltzer. that really worries me, 2 of the suporn girls i know are actual porn stars and super horny which tells me they are sensitive down there.

i belive another reason the suporn technique is more painful is simply beacuse you feel more down there due to the fact that he saves more nerves for orgasms,

were other surgeons just butcher your nerves so you feel no pain after srs and say weeee my recovery was not painful at all, im so numb down there, no pain lol. but what these girls dont realize is that numbness is not a good thing, beacuse it will pretty much stay numb down there for the rest of there lives!

being sore down there is a sign that you are alive down there that your nerves are good and will feel something during sex.

i would much rather have a car that runs... than a beautiful ferrari with a messed up engine. get my drift? simply beacuse you can always make a car look pretty with a revision.

but there is no revision on orgasm.

When I signed on I noticed this thread and realized I hadn't said anything since I had my SRS Nov. 18, 2010.

Things are going well, everything works well, and I do plan to return for a labiaplasty. I encourage others to go to Dr. Meltzer.

I'm a Meltzer girl and about 1 year 9 months Post Op.  althout I like him and his staff, his aftercare support is lacking when it comes to assistance with sensitivity and other orgasm/hormone issues. I thought a two part proceedure would produse better results, but I'm not very happy with the labiaplasty.  I'm very numb, and have virtually no labia minora. I think that the McGinn patients apear to recieve better follow up care from a doctor who has been through it all herself.  Meltzer is good, but those are points to consider.
